The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    As I was preparing a presentation on the 1st amendment and freedom of speech for Banned Books Week, I happened by chance on an excellent study whose link I've provided below. As part of the "Constitution Annotated," Its 54 sections start with a discussion on the debates at the Constitutional Convention and then cover the various aspects of free speech including court decisions in great detail.


    What I don't understand is why I've never encountered this resource before because I read widely on this issue. I think that it should be readily available on the ALA Website for its excellent information. If it is already there, I wasn't able to easily find it.
