The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    Liaison report to IFRT Executive Committee on Dec. 6, 2022 IFC meeting

     

    Lesliediana Jones, IFC chair, called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. Central.

    After introductions and establishing that a quorum existed the IFC reviewed and approved the minutes and the agenda. Next came an extensive report from IFC Privacy Subcommittee Chair Julie Oborny.

    OIF updates followed as presented by Deborah Caldwell-Stone two new consultants with

    OIF, Betsy Gomez and Eric Stroshane.

    Banned Books Week is running into problems with name.

    Unite Against Books Bans Campaign continues.

                Challenge Support / Challenge Reporting provide by Joyce McIntosh.

    In IFC updates and discussions Lesliediana Jones suggested that everyone attend the Governance Meeting Schedule in January/LibLearnX.
