The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.
The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.
Join #DefendResearch co-founder Sara Rouhi in conversation with researcher Stephan Lewandowsky, co-author of The Anti-Autocracy Handbook, discussing how scholars navigate increasing political pressure, assess personal and institutional risk, and choose among different forms of resistance. Topics will include how higher education and research are weaponized by authoritarian movements; censorship, self-censorship, and anticipatory obedience; and what resistance looks like.
