The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    Join us on Monday, March 9 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm Central Time for a virtual IFRT Candidates Forum! This event will feature the 2026  candidates for the positions of Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect and Secretary. Our candidates will share their perspectives on the landscape of intellectual freedom, discuss the role of IFRT, and outline their vision for their term in office.  Don't miss this chance to engage with the leaders who will champion intellectual freedom!

    Our Candidates Forum is held on the day the voting period opens, so consider casting your votes after this event. Candidate responses to the questions posed to them at this event will be posted to the IFRT Member Community for your consideration, in case you are unable to attend.
