    Hello Members and Leaders,

I am forwarding this information from Aimee Strittmatter, Project Management Support, Office for Intellectual Freedom American Library Association. I have attached the document to this post at the bottom of the page. I will also put the document in the Library. If you cannot access the documents, please message me. Feedback is due 5:00 pm Central Time, April 10, 2025.

On behalf of Intellectual Freedom Committee Chair Ray James, I am sharing the attached request for feedback from all of ALA's Round Tables. In anticipation of a new edition of The Intellectual Freedom Manual, the Intellectual Freedom Committee is in the process of reviewing and updating all intellectual freedom-related documents as needed.

This is the fourth request for feedback concerning the revised Library Bill of Rights Interpretations and we acknowledge it is issued close on the heels of the third request. This is due to a recently scheduled special ALA Council meeting scheduled May 5, 2025, where Council will consider the draft Interpretations.

Both your Round Table and member feedback are important to the process, and we value your time. The IFC would appreciate feedback from the Round Table leadership and that you share the request with your members. The IFC is also seeking feedback from the ALA Executive Board, Council Committees, Divisions, and the National Association of Librarians of Color leaders. The IFC will incorporate feedback into final draft Interpretations which will be presented to ALA Council.

Details about the feedback process are outlined in the attached memo as well as links to the relevant documents. Feedback is requested by 5:00 pm Central Time, April 10, 2025. Questions about the review may be directed to IFC Chair Ray James (erayjames@gmail.com) or OIF Director Deborah Caldwell-Stone (dstone@ala.org).

How do we give feedback?  I'm just not sure what the process is.

    Emily,

If you  are able to get to the link where the interpretations are listed with the original, and the drafts are both listed, in an email from Ray (by chance, I don't know what you can see?) At the bottom of that, if you scroll all the way down is a feedback form.  That PDF is not very commentable at all.
