Posted on behalf of Unite Against Book Bans:
Atomic Films, and ALA's Unite Against Book Bans Partners NEA, and PFLAG Host Viewing Party on January 20; discount code available for ALA members and chapter members.
As you know, January 20th is not only Inauguration Day this year, but it's also the federal holiday celebrating Martin Luther King's birthday. It's the day we honor Dr. King's legacy of social and racial justice activism and his work inspiring people to dream of the day when we all have an equal voice in our democracy.
Atomic Focus Entertainment has organized a special pre-release streaming event that day of the award-winning documentary film BANNED TOGETHER to celebrate activists fighting for underrepresented voices in the battle against book bans.
This is a ticketed event - and works much like renting a film on Amazon Prime - and the filmmakers are offering a discount code for all ALA members, division members, and chapter members: ALA20
However you choose to celebrate MLK Day, please know that we are grateful for the important work that you do every day in your communities and we will continue to show up and tell the story of libraries' impact across the country.
