The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    Please pardon the cross-posting.

    For the first time, I've had pushback on a book in my school library: Walter Dean Myers's Shooter. I hope to resolve this before it becomes an official challenge, but meanwhile I'm surprised this nuanced, restrained exploration of a school shooting presents a problem and wonder if anyone else has had pushback on this particular book.
