IFRT Members Community (Open)

Good morning!

A member of a sibling library association reached out to me to ask if ALA was taking any action in opposition to North Carolina's SB90: Senate Bill 90 (2023-2024 Session) - North Carolina General Assembly.

I haven't heard anything about it, but I thought this would be a good place to start. Any and all information is welcome!

Hello, JIm -

 Per ALA's State and Local Protocol, we work with the state chapter and other affiliated library groups in a state to determine any response to state legislation.  In this case, ALA would look to NCLA,  NCSMLA, and NCPDLA to determine the best method of response.   We are planning a conversation over the next few days.
