Proposed Bylaw Changes
Below are the proposed bylaw changes for Article VI, Section 1 for the IFRT ballot. The round table board voted to include these on the ballot at ALA Annual Conference 2018.
Action: Amend Article VI, Section 1, so committee chairs would be voting members of the Executive Committee.
Current Language:
The officers of the Round Table and the chairs of the Bylaws and Organization, Membership Promotion, Nominating, and Program Committees shall constitute the Executive Committee. Chairs of other standing committees and liaisons shall be non-voting members of the Executive Committee.
Proposed Language (additions underlined, omissions in brackets):
The officers of the Round Table and the chairs of the Bylaws and Organization, Coalition Building, John Phillip Immroth Award, Membership Promotion, Merritt Fund Support, Nominating, Eli Oboler Award, [and] Program, and Publications and Communications Committees shall constitute the Executive Committee. [Chairs of other standing committees and] Liaisons shall be non-voting members of the Executive Committee. (Vote Yes or No)
