The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    Over the last two years, the IFRT Bylaws and Organization Committee has completed a thorough revision of the IFRT bylaws. Changes recommended by the committee have been approved by the IFRT Executive Committee for inclusion on the 2024 ballot. Attached is a PDF document showing the proposed changes to the bylaws and the rationale for those recommendations. Full text of the current bylaws can be viewed here, on the IFRT webpage.
