The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

    I am pleased to announce that John "Mack" Freeman has been elected Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect of the Intellectual Freedom Round Table. Mack's term will begin July 1, 2017 and he will assume the role of Chair on July 1, 2018. 


    Steve Norman has been elected to serve a two-year term as Treasurer, having served a one-year term after the resignation of the previous treasurer. 


    Sarah Houghton and Eldon Ray James have been elected to two-year terms as Directors-at-Large.


    I'd like to thank Jim Teliha, Wanda Mae Huffaker, Ian Hughes, Kristin Joy Anderson, and Larissa Gordon for their willingness to run in this year's election. 


    All revisions to the IFRT Bylaws have been approved by membership. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's election.
