The Intellectual Freedom Round Table (IFRT) provides a forum for the discussion of activities, programs, and problems in intellectual freedom of libraries and librarians.

The IFRT Members Community group is the central hub for discussion, library and events. It is visible to all ALA members but only IFRT members can participate in the conversation.

We've received a few questions about joining the IFRT Reads Community and how it differs from this community space.
I've created a website to provide clear descriptions and instructions (including a screenshot). http://www.ala.org/rt/ifrt/ifrtreads

The IFRT Members Community has 933 members. In order NOT to overwhelm everyone's inbox with notifications of discussion and comments, a separate discussion/reading group was created: IFRT Reads.

The sub-community, IFRT Reads, will host the
    • robust asynchronous discussion threads
    • books, chapters, or articles chosen by the IFRT Education Committee
    • dates, times and registration info for the live events usually with the author or topic expert

I see "Latest Discussions" not "Join Community"-does that mean I'm already subscribed or joined? Thank you for your help. Sounds like a great idea!
