    Hi folks,

I'm in my sixth year of serving as your IFRT Councilor and my terms ends after Annual 2021.  While I have very much enjoyed serving as your voice on Council, I will not be seeking re-election.  When I first joined IFRT 20 years ago, I was excited about the opportunity to get involved with ALA  and learn more about a topic that captured my imagination in library school.  I've always talked about round tables as being the best way for new people to get involved in ALA, and indeed it was through IFRT that I joined and later chaired my first ALA committee (the Oboler award).  Well, new people don't have a chance to get involved if the ones with more experience don't make room, so  now it's time for me to get out of the way of the next IFRT Councilor.

If you would like to learn more about my experiences on Council before deciding if you want to run, I'd be happy to talk with you.  Those interested in running should  contact Audrey Barbakoff, chair of the IFRT nominating committee.  She's also still looking for candidates for Treasurer, so if you've been waiting for an opportunity to get more involved in IFRT, now's your chance.

Thanks again for the opportunity to serve.
