Tabletop role playing games (TTRPGs) are growing in popularity, and now more than ever communities are looking for ways to connect, spaces to play, and new systems to learn. To celebrate this moment in gaming, the Games & Gaming Round Table (GameRT) of the American Library Association is hosting a one-day mini conference dedicated to exploring all things TTRPG and their intersection with the many facets of librarianship. We’ve gathered 17 presentations from librarians and gaming scholars in a variety of fields to examine how these games intersect with our own theory and practice. So gather your party and get ready for an adventure as we delve into this vast and multifaceted gaming cosmos.

The conference will consist of six sessions from 10:00 A.M.- 6:30 P.M. CST on March 31st, 2023. The event is virtual and free for anyone to attend. If you can’t attend, all sessions will be recorded and posted for later viewing in the ALA GameRT Twitch library.
