INFO: December Board Meeting

  • 1.  INFO: December Board Meeting

    Posted an hour ago

Hello, everyone! Due to some new developments with ALA Annual (we are not able to hold Play at our usual time and day due to their time blocks), I am going to dedicate December's board meeting to discussing these changes and how we'd like to proceed. Rebecca and I are doing some information gathering beforehand so we have as much context as possible, but I am also going to invite ALA President Sam Helmick and Executive Director Daniel Montgomery. I am also going to extend the meeting an extra 30 minutes, either to lengthen the discussion or to use as reserve time in case any committees have business that they would like to discuss before the end of year.

To that end, as we approach the meeting, please let me know if you would like some discussion time at the December meeting so I can time Sam and Daniel's invitiation appropriately. If you just have updates, please post them in the agenda so people can read over them as available. I'll send a reminder out the week before the meeting, as well.

If you don't typically attend the board meetings, I would encourage you to try to attend this one. We'll be discussing some big picture things about how the round table operates, and it will be very helpful to have as many perspectives and advocates for the work we do as possible, especially if Sam and Daniel are able to attend.

I'll send out a meeting reminder and the agenda closer to December 11th, and I will send an updated invite to reflect the extended time on Tuesday.

Looking forward to what should be an engaging chat.
