The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Greetings!

    Please share the following information with your community. Gwinnett County Public Library is proud to be hosting our 4th Annual Game Jam which runs from March 1st - April 18th.  You do not have to reside in Gwinnett County, GA to participate. All entries are uploaded to itch.io . Last year, 70 developers registered and we received 43 submissions. This year, we already have 62 developers registered! 

    Selected games will be featured in a "Best of GCPL Game Jam 2025" video on YouTube. Although all entries are uploaded to itch.io, Gwinnett County Public Library will be featured at Downtown Lawrenceville's Free Comic Book Day event on May 3rd! Selected creators are invited to showcase their games during our Game Jam Showcase and compete for awards! A developer or a representative of the game must be present to accept a prize. For a look at how cool the Game Jam Showcase & Award Ceremeony is, please check out the Theme Reveal video for last year's event.
