The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Hi, Everyone - 

    Core wanted me to share this message with you (I know we have some Core members) - the early bird registration deadline for Core Forum 2024 is coming up!

    Core Forum Early Bird Deadline is Approaching! Register today!

    Core Forum Early Bird deadline is Friday, October 18. 

     

    Join your colleagues at Core Forum 2024, November 14-16, in Minneapolis, MN, at the Hilton Minneapolis! Gather with old friends and make new connections while celebrating the intersection and overlap of the core work we do. Learn more about Forum and register for the main event and preconferences at www.coreforum.org. 

     

    Two full days of presentations, interactive panel discussions, and activities are guaranteed to be both thought-provoking and highly relevant to participants' current and future career paths. Forum engages the collective expertise of presenters and participants, facilitates enriching conversations, and offers unique learning opportunities. Everyone, including non-Core members, are encouraged to register, bring real-life questions, share experiences, and network to learn new perspectives. 

     

    Core and Minnesota Library Association (MLA) members can save $150 by taking advantage of the Early Bird discount. Advance registration ends November 14.  Join Core and Save! 

    Preconference sessions and tours tickets are available for an additional charge - space is limited.  

    Core has secured a room block at the Hilton Minneapolis hotel for registered Core Forum attendees. Housing reservations must be made prior to October 16. Space is limited.

    Core Forum Scholarship: 

    Core's newest scholarship offers recipients the opportunity to attend Core Forum 2024. The scholarship covers the cost of registration and up to three nights at the conference hotel (Hilton Minneapolis). The Core Forum Scholarship is open to all library personnel. To apply for the Core Forum Scholarship, please use the online form. Applications will be accepted until October 9, 2024.
