Dear Colleagues,
Over the past year, the EMIERT Guidelines for Selecting Multicultural Materials Task Force has been working on a defining document to help library staff and stakeholders best support children and teen’s developing cultural competence through high quality materials and programming.
Now we look to you, our EMIERT members and colleagues for feedback on the draft. The draft will be available for comment from July 5 - July 19. Please leave your comments directly on our Google Doc or as a comment here, on EMIERT’s ALA Connect page. If you wish to email your feedback, please send to kttrend@gmail.com .
Thank you to our Task Force volunteers who shared their collective experience and expertise in helping to draft these guidelines : Karen Ginman, Rachel Kercher, Alyse Minter, Kalyn Shields, Sarivette Ortiz, Vanessa Irvin, Sophie Kenney and Katherine Trouern-Trend, chair.
Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions! We look forward to your feedback.
All the best,
Katherine Trouern-Trend
