  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    Hi friends --
    I am on the Editorial Advisory Board for Children and Libraries (CAL), the peer-reviewed journal of ALA's Association for Library Service to Children. We're eager to make connections with librarians and library workers, regardless of setting, who are interested in writing about children's literature, children's programming, and related topics. Issues after a 1-year embargo are openly accessible and you don't need to be a member of ALSC to write for us. As you can see from our Author Guidelines, CAL publishes scholarly research, best practices articles, and other types of writing. 
    I know there are a lot of EBSSers and EMIERT members who are doing research and undertaking innovative projects pertaining to children's literature/services. So please keep CAL in mind if you'd like to share the news! Reach out to our editor, Sharon Verbeten, at childrenandlibraries@gmail.com.
