The Oregon Library Association's Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Antiracism Committee launched a podcast this past March called
OVERDUE: Weeding Out Oppression in Libraries. The purpose of this podcast is
to shine light on the radical inequities and the oppressive nature of the library profession, specifically as it pertains to BIPOC professionals and the communities they serve in the state of Oregon, and on a national level.
If you haven't had a chance , we highly encourage you to give it a listen via the link provided or by finding us on Spotify or Amazon Music. Our latest episode is a conversation with ALA Executive Director Tracie D. Hall on mentorship and professional development that is helpful for both new and seasoned library professionals. New episodes launch on the last week day of the month, with the next episode to be released on Thursday, August 31st.
The committee would love to hear your feedback, action items inspired by episode content, and/or topics you would like to see addressed on the podcast. Please email us with your thoughts at:
edicommittee@olaweb.org.
We look forward to listening, (un)learning, and growing together with all of you!
