Hi
My welcome email to EMIERT said to introduce myself - so here goes:
I'm Jenny Groome - currently a government information at the Connecticut State Library - previously gov't info and instruction librarian at academic libraries. I serve on my library's Inclusion Diversity Equity Accessibility (IDEA) committee that formed almost 2 years ago.
I joined EMIERT as part of the Meet Me at the Table initiative. I'm active in GODORT (Government Documents Round Table) and was matched with a member of EMIERT - although I was late in taking action until recently. I look forward to exploring this round table.
I grew up in the mid 1960s-1980s hearing my mother quote First They Came poem and telling her daughters about sins of omission/commission - so social justice was always in my life and values.
Personally: I am a "retired" Morris Dancer (English folk dance) with two only children (40 yr and 20 yrs at the moment) and a granddaughter. Having lived in Connecticut all my life, I'm a "Connecticut Grown" Nutmegger.
