DePaul University's John T. Richardson Library in Chicago is looking for a Health Sciences Librarian. This is not a faculty position. Librarians are Academic Professionals at our institution, but if you are interested in teaching, there are plenty of part-time Faculty opportunities within the various colleges. We are looking for a librarian with a minimum of 2 years of academic or health sciences library experience. We also would like a candidate that has an undergraduate degree in the Health or Biological Sciences. A second master's degree is preferred but not required for this position. We will place higher priority on candidates with experience assisting students and faculty with Systematic Reviews.
As for the work environment, we have been making some positive organizational changes around Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility. Our library is rooted in the mission of Vincentian personalism, which places great emphasis on each person individual dignity. As of Fall 2021 we have implemented a blind hiring process. Currently our institution is offering a hybrid work schedule for the majority of staff. Library Public Services staff have a 4-1 workweek which is four days onsite and one day remote. DePaul University offers a host of great benefits including free tuition for full-time staff, their spouses/partners, and children.
Position Summary:
The Health Sciences Librarian works with students, faculty, and staff to build skills and support teaching, learning, and research across DePaul's expanding range of mission-oriented and strategically targeted health programs, including nursing, public health, health sciences, speech-language pathology, and more. The Health Sciences Librarian is part of a highly collaborative team of Research, Instruction & Academic Engagement librarians, focused on developing and applying their expertise in providing instruction and creating online guides and tutorials to support teaching and learning across health-related and cross-disciplinary subject areas.
