  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Round Table (CSKBART) is excited to invite all ALA conference attendees to  the CSKBART ALA conference activities/events.

    • CSKBART Executive Board members look forward to greeting you at the CSKBART membership booth in the Exhibit Hall on Friday, June 27, 2025, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.  Be certain to stop by the booth, take a picture with EB members, renew your membership if needed, and get CSKBART swag!
    • Attend the 2025 CSKBART Chair's Program featuring Mychal Threets as the speaker - Saturday, June 28, 2025 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST
    • Celebrate the 2025 Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement (VHALA) winner, Carolyn Garnes, at the VHALA Reception – Saturday, June 28, 2025 6:30-9:00 PM EST
