  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    CSKBART is excited to invite all ALA/CSKBART members to the CSKBART 55th Anniversary Celebration at the 2024 ALA Annual Conference (June 27-July 2, 2024). This free (ticketed) celebration of 5+ decades of diverse award-winning literature is open to all literature lovers and ALA conference attendees!

    §  Friday, June 28

    ·       CSKBART 55th Anniversary Celebration - University of San Diego University Auditorium, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Pacific

    ·       55th Anniversary Reception – University of San Diego's Auditorium Garden of the Sea, 8:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Pacific 

    *Register for the CSKBART 55th Anniversary Celebration/Reception which are free ticketed events with transportation to the venue.

    §  Virtual Auction

    ·       CSKBART Virtual Auction – Floyd Cooper Print, Brown Honey in Broomwheat Tea (written by Joyce Carol Thomas). In addition to the Floyd Cooper original print approximately 15 additional items are available for auction.

    Enjoy a delightful evening, hear from authors, experience student interactions, and view a bit of CSKBART history.
