Join USBBY as we meet Koshiro Hata and Yuko Ohnari, the husband-and-wife creative team behind several picture books published in Japan. Hata also works as a manga artist and writes essays and children's songs. Downpour, their first book in English, has garnered numerous awards including being named both an ALSC Notable and USBBY Outstanding International Book. It is the first in a planned series of four titles; the second, The Voice of the Snow, is due out in September 2026. They were both born in Osaka but now live in Tokyo.
They will be presenting at ALA Annual on Saturday, June 27, 2:30 pm at the Hyatt Regency, Room Clark ABC.
