  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    Dear Colleagues and Book Lovers,
    The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Round Table of the American Library Association is launching the Ashley Bryan Video Tribute on Sept 15, 2022, from 5-7pm CST via a Zoom party. This is the perfect video to introduce and/or give deeper insight to librarians, teachers, and today's youth on the life of CSK award-winning author/illustrator Ashley Bryan and his numerous works. The video viewing is the first hour followed by a Q&A the second hour. Hear shared memories from authors and illustrators such as Jason Reynolds, Daniel Minter, Nikki Giovanni, Kwame Alexander, Jan Spivey Gilchrist, and Ashley himself. 
    You'll be able to access the video via a full viewing or via short clips that best address the needs of your learners.
