The Illinois Library Association
recently announced the awarding of five Inclusive Travel Grants for National Conferences
, providing $1000 each to five librarians to attend the national conference of their choice, including ALA Annual, JCLC, or others.
These grants are for librarians and library staff who have faced structural barriers to national participation, including those eligible for ALA's Spectrum Scholarships (those who identify as American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, Middle Eastern/North African, and/or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander); people with disabilities; and people who identify as LGBTQUIA+; and rural librarians or library staff.
Three of the first five will attend JCLC in St. Pete Beach, FL 10/5-9/2022; two will attend ARSL in Chattanooga, TN 9/14-17/2022.
The second round, with ONE available remaining grant, is open NOW!
Please consider applying and/or share widely. You DO need to be an ILA personal member, or work at an ILA institutional member library.
