  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    Dear Coretta Scott King (CSK) Book Awards Committee Members,

    The members of the 2019-2021 CSK Nominating Standing Committee encourage you to nominate or self-nominate for the following positions for the spring 2021 Election ballot:

    Governance positions: serves a 2-year term (2021-2023) which begins at the conclusion of 2021 Annual Conference and continues through the end of the 2023 Annual Conference. 

    • CSK Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect

    • CSK Recording Secretary

    • CSK Corresponding Secretary

    • CSK Treasurer

    CSK-Virginia Hamilton Award for Lifetime Achievement Jury – 2 positions: serves a 2-year term (2021-2023) which begins at the conclusion of 2021 Annual Conference and continues through the end of the 2023 Annual Conference.

    Nominees must be members of EMIERT and CSK. The deadline to submit an application packet is Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Candidates for election whose names will appear on the ballot will be notified by November 14, 2020 and must complete the process by submitting additional information in the ALA election system by December 3, 2020.
