  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    Dear all EMIERT members.

    Would you like to be part of the Coretta Scott King Book Awards community? As an EMIERT member, you have the opportunity to participate in this important work as you wish.

     Members of the CSK Community must opt in to the ALA Connect community. There is no additional fee for being part of the CSK Community. It is part of your ALA and EMIERT membership. Once you opt in, that makes you a member of the CSK Community.

    Join the CSK Community on ALA Connect

    1. Go to the CSK Community / ALA Connect Link
    2. It will first ask you to sign into ALA Connect, and then automatically take you to the Coretta Scott King Book Awards Community.
    3. Once on the page, you will see a button that says "JOIN COMMUNITY" directly above the larger header near the top of the page that reads "Coretta Scott King Book Awards Community".
    4. Click on the "Join Community" button, and then confirm your email address, and select how often you would like to receive communications from the CSK Community.
