The Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA) is seeking a part-time remote Grant Manager to provide administrative support on two federally funded projects. This independent contractor position begins on October 5, 2020 with a pay range of $20-30 hourly per week for a minimum of 12 months plus the possibility of renewal.
BCALA serves as an advocate for the development, promotion, and improvement of library services and resources to the nation's Black/African American community and provides leadership for the recruitment and professional development of Black/African American librarians. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to develop, manage, and execute projects on schedule and to work on tight deadlines as needed
- Maintain budgetary control of grants and contracts, ensuring proper expense classification based on grantor guidelines
- Coordinate with BCALA Treasurer to prepare payments/expenditures and reports, and review payments charged to grants for conformity to budget
- Coordinate with BCALA Organizational Consultant to address website, software, or technical needs
- Maintain all grant records to the standard of being audit-ready
- Record minutes during Advisory Board meetings
- Attend Executive Board meetings, as needed
- Attend Quarterly Grant meeting
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3 years of experience managing federal grants
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal grant policy and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting software, eGMS/Reach, SAM, and other grant systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in nonprofit management, business, or related field
- Knowledge of the library and information science field
