  • To serve as a source of information on recommended ethnic collections, services, and programs.
  • To organize task forces, institutes, and workshops to carry out the functions of the Round Table as defined in the petition.
  • To develop for Annual conferences forums and symposia programs that deal with the key issues of ethnicity and librarianship.
  • To maintain a liaison with the Office of Library Outreach Services and cooperate with other ALA units, including the caucuses in joint projects for the betterment of outreach services.
  • To disseminate the work of the Round Table through a program of publications

    The Alexandria Library (VA) Local History/Special Collections (LH/SC) Branch Library is seeking enthusiastic, tech-savvy candidates for the Special Collections Librarian position.  Under the direction of the Branch Manager, this position is a part of a team responsible for the following:
    •  managing the preservation, description, and digitization of the LH/SC Branch's Manuscript and Rare Book Collections.
    •  working closely with the Branch Manager to develop technology initiatives
    • planning and implementing innovative programs and projects, and assists with collection development
    • archival processing, conservation assessments, scanning and metadata creation, and basic PHP and XML coding
    • assisting  with reference, programming, outreach, as well as serve on various committees.
    STARTING SALARY RANGE:  $51,552 - $69,056 annually


    FULL TIME, 40 HR WEEK
