ALA is inviting library users to submit school librarian nominations for the I Love My Librarian Award. This national award recognizes all types of librarians for their outstanding public service contributions. Among last year's inspiring recipients is Roseanna Gulisano, a school librarian in the Bronx who fundraised to provide basic necessities for families in need.
Ten librarians from across the country will be selected to receive $5,000 and be honored at the I Love My Librarian Award ceremony during 2024 LibLearnX. Recipients will also receive complimentary LibLearnX registration and a $750 travel stipend as part of their award packages.
Nominations for the 2024 award will be accepted online through September 30, 2023.
Note: We know school librarians are doing phenomenal things and changing lives in their communities every day! Along with nominating your peers, please spread the word about this recognition.
There are a variety of promotional tools on the ILML website (including graphics, a press release template, and sample social media copy) that librarians and library workers can use to get the word out.
