Many do not realize by putting resources into the hands of faculty, we (librarians) provide resources and opportunities for others - it is VITAL to remind the public what resources librarians can provide to others - example, directing the Delaware Volunteerism form to faculty, and you get results - one small example of how librarians help connect success to others - how do you as a librarian facilitate success for others? I'd love to hear stories of how you have used your librarian position to connect others to success - email me at
harry.brake@wsd.k12.de.us with your stories, and I'd like to put into a small article! Example below of how the AG teacher was able to make this happen for an amazingly involved student who I never see in the library, but passed the opportunity of nominating someone to represent our school to the whole staff. Someone stepped up as a result of this invitation, and that is what happens with a librarian position many fail to realize!
