Impact of cell phone bans on school libraries: research study survey

  • 1.  Impact of cell phone bans on school libraries: research study survey

    Posted yesterday

    Hello all,

As we have seen a slate of new laws pop up over the last few years either banning cell phones/personal devices outright at schools or policies and procedures that work to limit cell phone use among learners, research studies on the impact are being prepared to measure the postive/negative impact of such laws and/or policies.

Angela Duckworth, professor at the University of Pennsylvania and author of Grit, is leading the first national study of school cell phone policies. Over 100,000 educators have shared their perspective at phonesinfocus.org. Now, Dr. Duckworth and her team want to hear from you about how school cell phone policies impact libraries.

Even if you've taken the Phones in Focus survey before, the survey is open to you – this is a new survey made specially for librarians.

    Take the survey here: www.phonesinfocus.org

On the last page, in addition to being entered into a giveaway, you will get a real-time snapshot cell phone policies across the country. I hope you'll share your perspective today.

Please complete this short survey to assist in their research and feel free to share the link with other school librarians in your state/chapter/organization.

    Thanks you everyone,

    Amanda
