Jenni and I are looking forward to seeing everyone on February 15 for our Chapter Assembly Meeting! If you usually watch the recording, this is the meeting you should attend in person!!
First, we will be calling for nominations for ACCT Chair-Elect and Secretary. This is a great opportunity to step up and become more involved. Both jobs are important but have fairly low commitment. Terms begin July 1 and are very low-key. We have meetings to plan the Chapter Meetings but they are quick, organized, and a positive place to talk with colleagues!
During Chapter Assembly, you can submit your name and then Jen Habley will be in touch about the next steps. Candidates will need to prepare a very short speech, 3 minutes or less, at our annual meeting in June. More information can be found in the Delegate Handbook.
Second, we will have an update from our current AASL President, Kathy Lester, about the work both ALA and AASL have been doing publicly and behind the scenes to support, advocate for, and empower libraries and librarians in these "challenging" times.
Finally, we want to hear from you and let you hear from your colleagues THAT WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!! We will welcome comments, questions, and concerns…we, Chapter Assembly, are your people and your support! Please come join us in this conversation as we rally together and prepare for our in-person meeting in June!
