Chapter Delegates and Leaders-
We need input from all of the AASL Chapters!
As part of the AASL Strategic Plan, AASL has created the AASL State Policy Training Task Force. The task force charges are to:
-
identify the policy training needs of AASL Chapters;
-
recommend Train-the-Trainer programming or resources to fill those needs;
-
and create a face-to-face AASL Chapter meeting during 2025 AASL National Conference.
We realize that there have been two ALA Advocacy Training cohorts in the past two years. Our Task Force wants to provide specialized training for AASL Chapters and fulfill the needs specific to school librarians. Our goal is to train 1-2 advocacy leaders from each AASL Chapter through in-person training in St. Louis and virtual sessions over the next two years.
We are requesting that each AASL Chapter fill out the survey at least once. Chapters may submit multiple responses. Please share this survey link with those key members most attuned to the advocacy training needs of your state organization. We've provided a link to a Google Doc for you to preview or share the questions.
Please have this completed by May 19, 2025 if possible. Contact Cathi Fuhrman, cathifuhrman@gmail.com with any additional questions.
