Membership in the AASL Chapters Forum is open to all and may include the state-level school library association’s president/chair, other officers, conference chair, etc. Past Delegates and other interested stakeholders from the association may join the forum. This space provides an opportunity to share, discuss and ask questions from chapter colleagues across the country.

    All are invited to AASL Gathering | Writing for Change: Stand Up for School Libraries in Media, taking place on Thursday, January 16, 2025, @ 6:00 PM Central Time (US and Canada)

    To make school libraries a priority in our communities, local decision makers – from school administrators to elected leaders to parents and taxpayers – need to hear why school libraries matter. School librarians are positioned to be that voice, and media can amplify your message.

    Our January Gathering will focus on spotlighting your school library stories and services by crafting a compelling op-ed that grabs the attention of local decision-makers. Participants will leave with a formula for drafting their first opinion essay and a strategy for pitching it effectively.
