Ten AASL Members Receive Jewish American Heritage Month Collection Development Grants
Ten AASL members have been awarded $500 collection development grants. Generously sponsored by The Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, the grants allow recipients to create or expand their collections with content that provides context and explores Jewish experience, achievement, and identity as an antidote to antisemitism.
Nominations Open for the 2025 I Love My Librarian Award
ALA invites library users to submit nominations for the I Love My Librarian Award through September 30, 2024-ten amazing librarians will receive $5,000 and the honor of a lifetime. We know school librarians change lives every day, so please spread the word about this life-changing opportunity! 2024-2025 Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Youth Ambassador Applications Due July 11
The Youth Well-Being Program is excited to announce that applications for the 2024-25 cohort of HRC Youth Ambassador (YA) are officially open! The Youth Ambassadors program provides a leadership opportunity to LGBTQ+ young advocates, age 13-21, who are interested in helping raise awareness of HRC efforts to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ youth at home, at school, at work, and beyond. As Youth Ambassadors, these LGBTQ+ advocates will represent the HRC Foundation, adding their voices and experiences to raise awareness about the most pressing concerns facing LGBTQ+ youth as well as amplifying the Foundation programs that promote well-being for LGBTQ+ youth.
