AASL Seeks Best Digital Tools Nominations AASL encourages school librarians and app creators to nominate digital tools for its Best Digital Tools for Teaching & Learning recognition. AASL annually lauds tools which foster the qualities of innovation/creativity, active participation, collaboration, exploration, and information/reference. This list is a quick and easy reference of the best electronic resources school librarians can use in collaboration with other educators to transform teaching and learning. ALA Offers Programming Support With Peggy Barber Tribute Grant ALA invites all librarians to apply for the Peggy Barber Tribute Grant, a programming grant that recognizes, promotes, and supports meaningful programs in libraries that have limited and/or no access to budgetary support for programming. This grant aims to help ease budget challenges by annually awarding three libraries $2,500 to support a proposed program, program series or programming effort. Applications for the award are accepted until February 1, 2023. LeRoy C. Merritt Humanitarian Fund Provides Support for Librarians The LeRoy C. Merritt Humanitarian Fund is devoted to the support, maintenance, medical care, and welfare of librarians who, in the Trustees' opinion, are: Denied employment rights or discriminated against; or Denied employment rights because of defense of intellectual freedom.
