Participants will learn about excellent book examples, examine development ages and stages in relation to anti-bias concepts, consider literature-based teaching ideas, and reflect on the recent surge in book banning and how educators can respond. Join the HRC Foundation on February 16 For Welcoming Schools National Day of Reading Every year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's program Welcoming Schools hosts a National Day of Reading: A Celebration of Stories Supporting Transgender and Non-Binary Youth. The day honors the allyship demonstrated by the community in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, who rallied behind a young transgender girl who was bullied by a national anti-LGBTQ+ hate group. AASL member volunteers have also curated resources to help celebrate the day. Speak Up to Release New K-12 Cybersecurity Report Project Tomorrow's Speak Up will soon release It's Time to Think Differently about K-12 Cybersecurity - a new report detailing the findings from the 2022 iboss and Project Tomorrow research on cybersecurity awareness and preparation within K-12 Districts.
