AASL opens call for School Library Research Editorial Board Ex-Officio Doctoral Student AASL seeks a doctoral student to serve on the School Library Research (SLR) Editorial Board in an ex-officio position. A doctoral student position on the editorial board provides an opportunity for emerging researchers to see a range of research manuscripts while gaining insight into the process of review and editing that leads to a published research article directly related to school librarianship. AASL Awards and Grants Open
Applications are open for AASL's 2024 awards and grants. AASL members are encouraged to nominate a colleague or themselves to be lauded for their outstanding talent and dedication to the profession as part of this prestigious awards program. AASL awards and grants recognize excellence and showcase best practices in the school library field in categories that include collaboration, leadership, and innovation. Applications for the National School Library of the Year Award are due January 1. Applications for other awards and grants are due February 1.

Be a Catalyst for Change: Participate in Speak Up
Speak Up 2023-24 surveys will be open through May 31, 2024, providing districts with an extensive window of opportunity to participate. Schools are welcome to engage in the surveys at their convenience. Participating in Speak Up has never been easier with an extensive array of resources. Speak Up offer previews of each survey, K-5 lesson plans, promotional resources, sample social media messages, and more, all of which are readily accessible at no cost to every school and district that chooses to participate.
