At last evening's Chapter Assembly, there was some discussion about increasing membership.
Yesterday, I presented at a Project RUSL kick-off/orientation -- to welcome a group of teachers from two Michigan urban school districts who are beginning a program at Wayne State University to add Library Media certification to their teaching certificates.
As part of the Project RUSL orientation program, Dr. Kafi Kumasi asked me to present information on joining professional organizations.
Thus, I presented Five Reasons to join the Michigan Association for Media in Education (MAME) and AASL.
I thought that I would share that presentation
here-- please feel free to make a copy to customize for your own chapter.

Finally, there were some excellent presentations throughout the day including a keynote on Remix: Why Hip-Hop and School Libraries? by Joquetta Johnson and Lightning Talks throughout the day from a variety of school librarians.
