Good evening, all:
Thanks so much for your participation this evening at AAI.
In late May, the Concerns were shared with AASL President, Audrey Church. I shared her feedback with the AACT on May 30, but felt it could be beneficial to the entire Affiliate Assembly now that you have the Concerns in hand. Audrey's observations regarding two Concerns are pasted below.
--for the Region 2 Concern brought forward from MASL, does the group want something different from or in addition to the following two position statements which the Board approved in June 2017?

--for the Region 8 Concern brought forward from WLA, School Library Division, what would be the perceived hurdles to affiliation?
Here is a link to the online application: http://www.ala.org/aasl/about/affils/reaffiliation Are there barriers here?
The requirement is “Eligibility to be an AASL Affiliate requires either 25 AASL personal members, OR, 10% of the affiliate membership, whichever is lower.” I interpret this to mean that if a potential affiliate has low membership, for example 100 members, if 10 are AASL members, the requirement would be met?
Thanks for all you do for the organization and for school librarians. I hope to see you tomorrow morning at the Awards Ceremony and President's Program.
Best,
Mona
