Subject: URGENT: LSTA Dear Appropriator Letter in Trouble!!!

     Hi all,

I’m reaching out to you for a last minute plea to get more signatures on the House “Dear Appropriator” letter supporting LSTA. With just two business days left after today to get House Members’ commitments to sign it, we are 24 signers short of last year’s LSTA letter supporters total and this year we fear we will need to double that total!

According to our real-time online tracking tool, many Democrats in your key states (California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Washington) are not yet on the LSTA Dear Appropriator letter. (We are focusing on Democrats in larger states as they have historically provided the bulk of support for LSTA in the past.) With the window for signatures closing as early as Monday April 3, we need you to reach out again TODAY to those Democrats in your state listed below who have not yet signed the LSTA Dear Appropriator letter and ask that them to contact staff to Rep. Raul Grijalva (David.Gellman@mail.house.gov) to add their name to the letter NOW.

You know how important LSTA is to your state. We need you to reach out to your people yet again to generate as many calls, emails and tweets to these offices as humanly possible today, tomorrow and on Monday of next week!

We also need you personally, on behalf of your state associations, to use the phone numbers listed in our online tracker to speak personally with the listed staffer to each of the House Members noted below to ask directly that their boss sign the LSTA Dear Appropriator letter. Please leave voice mails but keep calling until you reach them or they reach you back!

We’re almost out of time and failure in this effort may well mean deep cuts in, or even the elimination of, LSTA funding for FY 2018.  We cannot and must not fail.

Thanks for again for pushing every way you can and doing it now!
