Sent on behalf of Eileen Kern, Chair of the AASL Vision for Implementing ESSA Task Force:

The Vision for Implementing ESSA Task Force would like to provide an update on some resources regarding Title IV-A Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grants.

    Grants Learning Center

Grants Learning Center is a gateway to federal grants. It provides tips on writing grants including information on grant eligibility, terms, and policies. The link is posted on the ESSA and School Libraries Resource and Information Page https://essa.aasl.org/resources/

    What's in ESSA's Big Flexible-Spending Pot

An excellent article in Education Week by Alyson Klein

    https://www.edweek.org/ew/articles/2018/06/06/whats-in-essas-big-flexible-spending-pot.html?cmp=eml-enl-eu-news1&M=58513138&U=1795175

Resources are continually being added to the Resources for Developing Talking Points and Sharing Information with Stakeholdersdocument on the ESSA and School Libraries Resource and Information Page https://essa.aasl.org/resources/. For instance a link to ISTE's Brief Primer on Implementation of Title IV-A of ESSA has just been added to help those states whose mention school libraries in their state plans under technology in Title IV A.

Remember to check back to the ESSA and School Libraries Resource Page as many of the documents are continually updated.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact Eileen Kern, Chair of the task force at kernef@gmail.com
