Read about the Arizona Library Association and the Teacher Librarian Division's advocacy coalition to support a ballot proposition that includes funding for school librarians.
Successful advocacy campaigns require building partnerships with other people and organizations that share our values. The Arizona Library Association (AzLA) and the Teacher Librarian Division (TLD) promote and provide library services to Arizona's youth and families. Literacy and voter education are central to our mission. We care deeply about the present and future of young people's access to high-quality education and the health of our democracy.
Partnering with EveryLibrary.org is giving us the opportunity to bring something to the table when we meet with the Invest in Education Act leadership. Together, EveryLibrary, AzLA, and TLD have launched a "Take the Pledge to Vote YES! on Prop. 208" campaign. Read about our efforts on my blog: https://tinyurl.com/sllblog100520
And if you know anyone who votes in Arizona, please ask them to read and sign our Pledge: https://www.saveschoollibrarians.org/yeson208
Thank you.
Sincerely
Judi Moreillon and Jean Kilker, Co-Chairs, Teacher Librarian Division, AASL Chapter Delegates
