RE: Principals and School Library Media Specialists
I need your help! School librarians know that much of their success is dependent on the support of the school administrators. I am interested in surveying school administrators who have been identified by school library media specialists as supporting their school library programs. If your state gives an award or a citation of some kind to school administrators for their efforts to support school library media programs, please send me the names and contact information (including a current email address and position) of those who have received such an honor during the past five years.
These are the questions I hope to pursue:
- How do school administrators who understand the potential of and work to support school library media programs attain such knowledge and understanding?
- How do these school administrators evaluate school library media programs?
- What recommendations do they have for SLMSs who want to gain the support of their school administrators and educate them about the potential impact of SLMPs?
- What recommendations do they have for what should be included about SLMPs in preparation programs for school administrators?
Please send the names and contact information for school administrators you have honored to me at:
donnashannon@yahoo.com and in the subject line please type: Principal Project
Thanks very much for your help!
