Happy 2018! We would like to thank you for your robust support and generous assistance helping us get the word out about "Librarians with Spines: Information Agitators in an Age of Stagnation." Through your support and encouragement, we were able to sell over 300 print copies and 50 e-books over the Internet solely through word of mouth and with absolutely no advertising.
Thanks to you, "Librarians with Spines," vol. 01 can be found in the catalogs of the New York Public Library, the Los Angeles Public Library, and the Oregon State Library just to name a few. Our anthology of 9 essays featured 11 innovative Librarians that were grinding it out in the library world. Our first volume provided a venue for LBGTQ Librarians, Librarians of Color, and allies of both of those demographics to create an intersectional dialogue.
It is with this verve and energy that we now solicit submissions for our second volume (subtitle to be determined).To that end, please send us your abstracts detailing your chapter by Friday, February 16th, 2018. Completed chapters are due by April 1, 2018 to librarianswithspines@gmail.com, and we would like to have volume 02 printed by July 31, 2018. Please help us to make LWS vol. 02 a successful resource for our newest LBGTQ Librarians, Librarians of Color, and allies of both.
When you get a second, could you please share with your networks and forward to interested librarians, information professionals, and clerical support staff in your networks. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources or womanpower to post this on all the respective listservs that we are subscribed to and we were hoping you could help us get the word (-of-mouth) out!
