The Pasadena Libraries and Information Services Department is excited to announce the vacancy for Senior Librarian. The Senior Librarian will supervise staff and operations at one or two library branches. The ideal candidate will plan, manage and review the work of professional, paraprofessional and support staff. In addition, the Senior Librarian may be responsible for the administration and maintenance of a major unit within a library service area such as collections, circulation, or youth programs. The ideal candidate will be able to balance the needs of the branches they serve while maintaining an eye and focus on the big picture needs of the library system as a whole.

VACANCIES:
There is currently one vacancy in the Libraries and Information Services Department-
La Pintoresca Library Branch which may be filled as a result of this examination process.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an American Library Association accredited college or university with a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Studies or Librarianship from a program accredited by the American Library Association, and at least three years of progressively responsible professional library experience; or two years of experience in the City of Pasadena Public Library in the class of Librarian; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Desired experience:
One year of supervisory experience
Bilingual- Spanish highly preferred
