We believe in connecting individuals and groups to information, ideas and
experiences in any way possible, and we are looking for an innovative librarian to
help strengthen our ability to take our services and programming beyond our walls
and to new audiences. We don’t want barriers between our patrons and our
resources; your job will be to help knock those barriers down as a Community
Services Librarian.
We are a library committed to community engagement in our city that spans 430 square miles
in SE Virginia. As one of ten libraries selected to participate in the Libraries Transforming
Communities initiative through the American Library Association, we have solidifed our
commitment to meeting people where they are, engaging in real conversations with our
community, and being a exible library system that is willing to make bold choices when it
comes to making our library community-focused. The debut of our new Book/Tech Mobile
and rapid expansion of our services through our Pop-Up Libraries has meant that we need
you to join our team and help our Outreach and Program Services Department meet the
growing demand for library services out in the community.

Qualifcations
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or closely related feld and some customer
service experience. Requires a valid driver’s license.
Salary: $43,934.00 - $68,976.00 | This position will close on May 29 at 12:00PM EST
